Jackson Racing Race Tuning Services for Honda Talon
The Honda Talon’s 1000cc twin with individual throttle bodies is unique, and it creates big challenges when adding boost. The stock ECU was never designed to control fuel and ignition under turbocharging the way most try to force it to. Standard tuning suites rely on the wrong OEM fuel map, leading to poor fuel control, inconsistent power, and long-term reliability risks.
Jackson Racing developed custom ECU software that adds boost-based control directly into the Talon’s Alpha-N fuel and ignition maps, exactly how Honda designed the engine to be tuned. This delivers OEM-quality drivability, smooth power delivery, and safe, consistent fueling under boost.
The result: factory-level reliability with race-winning performance. No compromises, no guesswork. Just the way a turbocharged Talon should run.
And it works. The same factory-level tuning trusted by Team Raceco Factory Honda is now available to all Talon racers.
“We’ve supported some of the best drivers in off-road,” said Oscar Jackson Jr. at Jackson Racing. “Now we’re making that same level of performance support accessible to more racers. Whether you’re running regional short course events or building a national-level program, this is the tuning you can trust.”

FEATURES
Advanced Fuel Mapping
- More Accurate Fuel Mapping with Boost
Fuel mapping and references have been adjusted to work more effectively with higher boost pressures. This ensures proper air-fuel ratio (AFR) and engine performance under boost. - Improved Air Density Fuel Correction
- Engine Efficiency Compensation
Fuel is now adjusted based on changes in engine efficiency, especially important for those running higher boost levels. - Barometric Compensations
Whatever altitude you race at, your Talon will perform properly.
Advanced Ignition Mapping
- Boost-Based Ignition Timing Control
Timing is now adjusted as boost increases, improving engine safety and performance. - High Air Temp Timing Protection
Additional timing control at high intake air temps to prevent knock, while maintaining ignition advance at low temps.
Transmission / Clutch Adjustments
- Advanced Clutch Pressure and Shift Control
In-depth shift logging and control is critical for the Honda DCT transmission to work with your more powerful engine. Only Jackson Racing can provide the “Factory Feel” in a race package. Going well beyond standard tuning software maps, you will have the ultimate feel and control with JR DCT tuning.

FAQ:
Do I have to switch to HPTuners?
Yes. Our race tuning services are only available via HPTuners. By using HPTuners, we can utilize our custom ECU software. This is not possible with any other tuning available for the Talon.
Why do I have to get the AIM XLog?
The AIM XLog is key for remote tuning. The OEM ECU does not have memory to store data. With the XLog, we can look at high-speed CAN data from the ECU and send accurate adjustments for your vehicle remotely.
I already have a 3bar MAP sensor. Can you just use that?
Unfortunately, no. Our 3bar MAP Sensor kit takes a proper MAP reading from the engine, which then gives the ECU accurate information. We have found that the other 3bar MAP sensor setups will give incorrect data, causing tuning issues.
It is recommended to do a minimum of pistons and head studs on high-boost Honda Talons. It is not mandatory, but the safer path and recommended. In fact, we ran our own test vehicle with a completely stock engine to pretty high power levels.
